Q. What if I don’t like any of the floor plans?
A. That’s ok! Your dealer will work with you to customize a floor plan based on your needs, wants and budget.

Q. Do I decorate my Cottager myself?
A. We offer many different décor packages for you to choose from when deciding how to personalize your cottage. We cover all the details from the cabinet colour, all the way down to the duvet cover.
Q. Does my unit come with a warranty?
A. Each Northlander product comes with one of the best warranties in the industry, good for 5 years. We do not cover deficiencies from normal wear and tear or off-site modifications.
Q. What do I do if I find an issue with my unit?
A. When under warranty, our skilled craftsmen and women will repair the issue. But first, we need you to fill out the following form with as much detail as possible. Your dealer will follow up and arrange necessary resources to investigate and address the issue.

Q. What is the life expectancy of Northlander Park Model?
A. Owning a park model is similar to owning a house, requiring proper care and maintenance. Following the care and maintenance guidelines in your Owners Manual will ensure many years of enjoyment.
Q. How do I prepare my unit to be closed up for winter?

Q. What do I need to do in the spring to open up my Northlander?

Q. Why is there condensation on the inside of my windows?

Q. What are the insulation values of my older Park Model?
A. The minimum insulation values required by the Park Model code have not changed over the years however; the insulation values we use have. The code requires floors and ceiling to be R-12, walls to be R-8. For insulation values specific to your unit please use the “Contact Us Form”; be sure to reference your unit’s serial number.
Q. Where is the unit serial number located?
A. The serial number is stamped on an aluminum plate located on the exterior of your unit near where the hydro service enters. You can also find it on the CSA data sheet located either on the back of the hydro panel door or on a bedroom closet wall.
Q. What is the recommended amount of skirting ventilation?
A. It is very important that cross ventilation is provided if skirting is installed. For vinyl skirting it is recommended that a vented panel be installed every 6 to 8 feet. If wood skirting is used allow for at least 1/8” between each piece.
Q. Do you build customized floor plans?
A. Yes. We do frequently customize floor plans. If you don’t see exactly what you are looking for in our standard plans we will certainly custom build to suit your needs. We have an in house engineering and design team who will work with you through your dealer to customize the floor plan. Adding windows, enlarging rooms, reconfiguring kitchens and baths or other changes are possible.
Q. I use a wheel chair and have special accessibility needs; can you build a park model to suit my requirements?
A. Yes. Larger interior and exterior doors, wider hallways, larger room sizes, and accessible showers are available. Tell us what you require and we will design and build a unit specific to your needs.

A. We are factory certified to build CSA Z-241-03 Park Models, CSA Z-240-09 Mobile Homes, CSA A-277-08 Factory Built Homes, Ontario and Canadian Building Codes, Ontario and Canadian Electrical Codes, Ontario and Canadian Plumbing Codes and CSA Z-240-RV-08
